Shortly before this, Alexei Zaitsev, Deputy Head of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said that «our country is not going to attack anyone,” and the ministry considers “even the idea of a war between our peoples is unacceptable.”
As of 16:49 Moscow time, the Moscow Exchange index rose to 3523.75, the RTS index — 1432.69. By 18:00 Moscow time, the indices fell slightly: to 3474.72 and 1406.22, respectively.
