MOSCOW, Jan 28 Spain's Rafael Nadal defeated Italy's Matteo Berrettini to advance to the the final of the season's first Grand Slam tournament — the Australian Open Tennis Championship. The meeting ended with a score of 6:3, 6:2, 3:6, 6:3 in favor of the sixth seed. Berrettini was the seventh seed. In the final, Nadal will play the winner of the meeting Daniil Medvedev (Russia, 2) — Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece, 4), which will take place later on Friday and will begin no earlier than 11:30 Moscow time. Nadal, 35 years old, is a twenty-time Grand Slam winner, at Courts «Melbourne Park» he won in 2009. Together with Serb Novak Djokovic and Swiss Roger Federer, Nadal leads the list of the most titled tennis players in the Grand Slam tournaments (all have 20 victories). Federer is out of the 2022 Australian Open with an injury, and Djokovic is out due to a visa scandal and subsequent deportation from Australia.
