In «Ukravtogaz» Unfavorable market conditions are cited as the reason for closing the stations.
The largest CNG station network in Ukraine «Ukravtogaz» closes all its gas stations from February 1. Cause — unfavorable market conditions, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
The work of the CNG station of the company «Ukravtogaz», which is part of the state NJSC «Naftogaz Ukraine», is terminated for an indefinite period. In fact, we are talking about the closure of the stations.
«From 02/01/2022, changes are made to the mode and schedule of CNG filling stations of the network «Ukravtogaz» — from 6:45 commercial refueling of vehicles at CNG stations» will be stopped, — the company's website reports.
In «Ukravtogaz» The reason for closing the stations is a decrease in methane sales, an increase in the cost of natural gas and electricity, as well as unfavorable market conditions.
«The miracle did not happen, and our company suffered in the current market situation, — said the director of «Ukravtogaz» Oleksandr Vatazhyshyn in enkorr comment. — At this stage, the price of gas does not change, it has been expensive and remains expensive, so we are forced to suspend the work of all our stations».
Formerly «Ukravtogaz» gradually decommissioned its CNG filling stations. Of the 90 stations of the network, 34 points were closed on December 1, 2021, another 32 on January 1 this year. The remaining 11 stations will close on February 1. Nine more CNG stations «Ukravtogaz» remained in the uncontrolled territory in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
As noted by the company, the stations will resume operation with a decrease in gas prices. However, under the current conditions it is difficult to predict when this might happen.
Today, the CNG market in Ukraine has shrunk to a minimum. Previously, there were 215 methane gas stations in the country, and today there are a little more than 80.
