The NHL will hold new skill competitions ahead of the All-Star Game in Las Vegas

MOSCOW, Jan 31 The National Hockey League (NHL) has announced two new hockey skill competitions that will be held on the streets of Las Vegas as part of the «Master Show» before the All-Star Game, according to the league's official website. The first of two new competitions will be held at the Bellagio fountains. Players will have to get on the boats to the floating skating rink and hit five targets in the shortest time. Part of Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed for the second competition. Hockey players will need to throw the puck at huge playing cards on racks in order to score 21 points without busting for the fewest shots. There will also be five traditional competitions: for speed, a series of saves, for the strongest shot, for accuracy of throws and for the most beautiful shootout. The latter will be held as part of the «Master Show» for the first time since 2016. Special guests will take part in the «Master Show». Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras, the first woman to play in the NHL, Manon Reom, and actor Wyatt Russell, who played as a goaltender in the Dutch League for Gröningen, will compete for a beautiful shootout performance. PyeongChang Olympic champion Jocelyn Lamouret-Davidson will compete in the accuracy competition and the new fountain competition.
