Rivne Nuclear Power PlantMOSCOW, 31 Jan. Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Servant of the People party Maxim Buzhansky commented on the launch by Ukraine of all available nuclear power units. Earlier, Energoatom announced that for the first time in the country's history, all 15 nuclear power units were put into operation simultaneously. It is noted that since December 2021, 14 out of 15 reactors have been operating. «Now it has become really scary,» the deputy wrote in his Telegram channel. In total, there are four nuclear power plants in Ukraine with 15 power units (all with VVER reactors), one of which, the Zaporozhye NPP with six power units with a total installed capacity of 6,000 MW is the largest in Europe. In terms of the number of power reactors, Ukraine ranks tenth in the world and fifth in Europe. Last week, Kiev requested emergency assistance from Belarus for the supply of electricity in order to save resources to ensure peak coverage in the future.
