In the Primorsky Territory, a high alert regime was introduced due to cases of attacks by stray dogs on people. The corresponding decree of the governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The local authorities made this decision “due to the increased activity of animals without owners, cases of attacks by dogs without owners on people, in order to prevent the spread of contagious diseases common to humans and animals, given the current critically dangerous situation for the life and health of citizens,» the resolution says.

According to TASS with reference to the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Primorsky Territory Eduard Tsoi, he and his colleagues developed amendments to the draft law on homeless animals. In particular, they propose to chip such animals, increase funding for their sterilization, and also give veterinarians the right to decide on euthanasia.
