The captain of the Washington Capitals, Russian Alexander Ovechkin, fell under the NHL's COVID protocol and will not be able to take part in the League All-Star Game, according to the club's official Twitter page. The NHL All-Star Game will take place on February 5 in Las Vegas. Also, the Russian striker will miss the next match of the NHL regular season against Edmonton on February 2.
Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is unavailable tonight versus the Edmonton Oilers due to the NHL COVID-19 protocol. Based on a positive test result, Ovechkin will not participate in the 2022 NHL All-Star Game in Las Vegas.
