Ministry The economy has published new estimated prices for the average cost of gasoline and diesel fuel, from which gas stations will be able to set their markup. The price of gasoline and diesel fuel may increase by more than a hryvnia, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Channel 24.
Fuel price
According to the new settlement prices published by the Ministry of Economy, the new settlement prices are as follows:

- the price of a liter of gasoline will increase from UAH 29.25 to UAH 30.84 (by UAH 1.59);
- diesel fuel< /strong> (DP) — UAH 26.84 to UAH 27.99 per liter (by UAH 1.59)
Why the price of fuel at gas stations may increase
Given the new marginal prices, the purchase price of gas will rise in price. Note that after the increase in the estimated cost of the gas station network, they increase their retail prices and, accordingly, reduce them after their decrease. Therefore, the price of fuel at gas stations may increase in the near future.
It should also be recalled that after the last Since the Ministry of Economy raised the marginal price, the cost of fuel at gas stations increased in price for several days in a row.
What can be the maximum markup at gas stations
Taking into account the maximum markups, the cost of fuel at gas stations cannot exceed:
- 35.84 hryvnia per liter gasoline
- UAH 35.30 per liter DT.
Important! The maximum trade markup does not apply to «branded premium fuel» with improved quality indicators.
State regulation of prices
- On May 15, 2021, state regulation of retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel was introduced in Ukraine in order to prevent abuse of gas stations and the availability of fuel for the population.
- The NJSC «Naftogaz of Ukraine» was obliged to carry out the calculations. The company submits calculations to the Ministry of Economy three times a month.
- The Cabinet of Ministers set the maximum retail margin at 5 hryvnia for gasoline and 7 hryvnia for diesel fuel.
Pay attention! The gasoline formula is identical to the coal pricing methodology that was in effect from 2016 to 2019. These formulas are based on the quotation of fuel in the port of the Dutch Rotterdam plus the cost of delivery to the consumer in Ukraine.
