Macron discussed ways to reduce tension around Ukraine.
In the presidential administration France, Emmanuel Macron was told what exactly he talked about with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine. These telephone contacts, we recall, took place on February 3, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Channel 24.
As with Vladimir Zelensky, and with Vladimir Putin, Macron discussed ways to reduce tension around Ukraine. This is stated in the communique of the Elysee Palace, published by the French media.

On February 3, French President Emmanuel Macron had two important separate telephone conversations in which they touched on the topic of Ukraine. In fact, with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, as well as with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who probably still hesitates to attack him Ukraine, or take the path of de-escalation and diplomacy.
The discussion focused on two priorities, according to the Elysee Palace:
- The first is to use the positive progress in the Normandy format to achieve a lasting solution in Donbass.
- The second is to start talking about a strategic balance in Europe that will reduce risks and ensure security on the continent.
What's important: Macron called on Putin to make diplomatic efforts to ease the crisis in Ukraine. And Zelensky and Putin together to «accelerate» peace process in the Donbass, where the Kremlin has been supporting pro-Russian militants since 2014.
