The head of the Human Rights Council asked Bastrykin to withdraw from Chechnya the investigation into the case, which led to the arrest of the wife of a retired judge, Yangulbaev

The head of the Human Rights Council, Valery Fadeev, asked the chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, to withdraw from Chechnya the investigation into the case of Zarema Musaeva, the wife of retired Chechen judge Saydi Yangulbaev. This is stated on the council's website.

Fadeev suggested that the case be transferred to the Central Office of the Investigative Committee or to the administration of the department for the North Caucasian Federal District.

“The rhetoric on both sides has become extremely sharp, up to public statements by officials of the Chechen Republic with threats against the Yangulbaev family. In the current situation, the course and results of the investigation of the criminal case against Zarema Musaeva can be discredited and assessed by society as biased and biased,” explained the head of the presidential HRC.

The press release also added the opinion of the members of the Council that that the persecution of Zarema Musayeva “is closely connected with another conflict between the leadership of the Chechen Republic and her sons, who are called the administrators of an Internet resource (telegram channel 1ADAT — MZ), which publishes insulting texts against the leadership of Chechnya.”

In January, Chechen security officials forcibly took 52-year-old Musayeva from Nizhny Novgorod for interrogation in Chechnya. The head of Chechnya claimed that in Grozny she «attacked a police officer and almost took his eye.» Because of this, she was charged with assaulting a policeman (Article 318 of the Criminal Code) and sent to a pre-trial detention center.

On January 21, the day after Musayeva was detained in Nizhny Novgorod, he wrote that «each Yangulbayev got his hands dirty in the vile publications of the Telegram channel”. In February, the ChGTRK Grozny published an audio recording in which a male voice insulted well-known Sufi preachers. The channel claimed that it was a message from Judge Yangulbaev's son Ibragim from a family chat. Afterward, Chechen officials and the media, criticizing the Yangulbaevs, began to mention only audio messages, and not their connection with 1ADAT.
