The Investigative Committee (IC) for the Kursk region opened a criminal case on hooliganism as part of a group of people (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code) after the action with the «hanging» of a mannequin with a photograph of the region's governor Roman Starovoit on a pedestrian bridge. This was reported by the press service of the department.

According to investigators, on the night of February 1, several people were “tied to the structural elements of the bridge over the roadway with a rope wrapped around the neck, imitating hanging”, thereby committing hooligan acts. The department said that those “involved” in the action had been identified, and investigative actions were being carried out in the case. According to this article, the defendants in the case face up to seven years in prison.
According to photographs from social networks, a poster was attached to the mannequin with the text “I was the governor was executed for betraying the people of Kursk” (the author’s spelling is preserved, — ed. .) and a photo of Governor Roman Starovoit.
