The Russians won two medals in the skiathlon at once: Bolshunov came first, covering a distance of 30 kilometers in 1 hour 16 minutes 9.8 seconds, silver went to Denis Spitsov (lag 1 minute 11 seconds). Third place went to Finn Iivo Niskanen (+2.00.2).
