The Verkhovna Rada told how much coronavirus cost the country
Medical Ukrainian budget spending since the start of the COVID-19 epidemic has amounted to more than UAH 100 billion. In 2021 alone, Ukraine allocated more than 46 billion for the fight against coronavirus. This was announced by the Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the health of the nation, medical care and medical insurance Mikhail Radutsky, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the New Edition.
“Today, the Ministry of Finance reported on the total state fight against coronavirus disease in 2021. UAH 46.4 billion was spent. Of these, most of them are for emergency and inpatient medical care for patients with COVID-19 (UAH 22.4 billion) and for the purchase of vaccines (UAH 11.4 billion),” the MP wrote.
Also Radutsky noted that if we take into account the costs of other budget programs, such as providing medical institutions with oxygen stations, paying sick leave, subventions to local budgets, and supporting businesses that suffered losses during the pandemic, the amount will be even higher.
The MP also added that for 2022 the state budget provides for more than 22 billion hryvnias to pay for medical services for the treatment of patients with coronavirus and 2.6 billion for the purchase of vaccines.
