The Primorsky Regional Court sentenced a local resident to 12 years in prison in a strict regime colony in a case of high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). This was reported on the website of the court.
The convict was also fined 300 thousand rubles. According to investigators, he collected information constituting a state secret about modern sonar systems for detecting submarines for transfer to a foreign state. Which one is not specified.

The defendant in the case is a pensioner from Vladivostok Viktor Korolev, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the court. According to investigators, he was engaged in counterintelligence and carried out tasks of the Russian special services for 15 years.
