
BEJING, Feb 10 The Russian men's curling team defeated the Chinese team in a match group stage of the Olympic Games in Beijing. The meeting ended with a score of 7:4 in favor of the Russians. After the eighth end, the Russians lost 3:4, and managed to win the penultimate one 4:0. The last end was not completed, since the Chinese, two throws before its end, lost their chances to catch up with the Russians. The Russian team includes skip Sergei Glukhov, Evgeny Klimov, Dmitry Mironov, Anton Kalalb, Daniil Goryachev — a substitute. Ten teams will play in a one-round format, the top four will advance to the semi-finals. The United States is the reigning Olympic champion. The Russians played the second match of the tournament, on Wednesday they lost to the Americans in the extra end (5:6).
