No. 6 of the Kudankulam NPP began in India.» Traditionally, projects in the energy sector are successfully implemented. The construction of our flagship project — the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in India is being progressively carried out. Units 1 and 2 are operating normally. For units 3 and 4 of the second stage Russian equipment is being shipped. In June last year, the first concrete was poured at Unit 5,» Alipov said. Russia is one of India's key partners in the peaceful use of nuclear energy. In accordance with an intergovernmental agreement of 1988 and an addendum to it of 1998, Russia is building the Kudankulam NPP with VVER-1000 reactors in India in the state of Tamil Nadu. Block No. 1 of the station began generating electricity in 2013, in the summer of 2016 it was finally handed over to the customer. Unit 2 of the station in August 2016 was first connected to the national power system of India, and at the end of March 2017 it was put into warranty operation. >Rosatom began construction of power unit No. 6 of the Kudankulam NPP in IndiaIn June and October 2017, construction began on the third and fourth units of this nuclear power plant, respectively, and in June of this year, the construction of the fifth unit. Power units No. 3, 4 and No. 5 , 6 are the second and third stages of the Kudankulam NPP, which are being built according to the AES-92 project with a reactor plant of the VVER-1000 (V-412) type. The technical solutions implemented in the Kudankulam NPP project characterize the ways of further evolutionary development of NPP power units with a high-capacity VVER reactor and the transition to the creation of a qualitatively new, reliable, safe and economical power unit.
