MOSCOW, February 11 Skeleton player of the Russian national team Elena Nikitina said on her page in Instagram about the conflict within the national team, calling the situation a war. The first attempts of women at the Olympics in the skeleton took place on Friday morning Moscow time. According to their results, Nikitina took only 18th place.
"No miracle happened. Morally destroyed since the middle of the current season. Inside, unfortunately, there is a war between their own. We've been trying to hide it for a very, very long time! This is the most destructive thing that can be for every athlete who is involved in this. They kill your love for the sport to which you have devoted your life", Nikitina said.
The remaining two attempts of the skeletonist will be held on Saturday. The Olympic Games will end on February 20.
