The report says that Valieva passed a doping test in December, it was studied by the Stockholm Anti-Doping Laboratory. The results became known only on February 7. RUSADA noted that the laboratory explained the incident with a new wave of coronavirus, an increase in the incidence among staff and quarantine rules.
After the results, Valieva was temporarily suspended from the competition. However, on February 9, the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee lifted the restrictions on Valieva. The World Anti-Doping Agency has decided to challenge the lifting of the figure skater's suspension.
