The press service of the IOC said that a situation had arisen that required legal consultations with the International Skating Union (ISU). Later, Insidethegames reported that the delay in the awards ceremony was due to a doping test by Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva. Valieva missed a training session on Wednesday. On Thursday, the figure skater appeared at the time allotted for her at the training rink of the Capital Sports Palace. Women's competition at the Olympics will begin on February 15.
