The Russian Foreign Ministry announced the «optimization» of the staff of Russian foreign institutions in Ukraine due to the threat of «power actions». This is reported by the telegram channel of the ministry.

“Fearing possible provocations by the Kiev regime or third countries, we really decided to optimize the staff of Russian foreign missions in Ukraine”,
— said the official Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Zakharova called the information about the evacuation of Russian diplomats from Ukraine, which appeared in The New York Times about a month ago, “stuffing” and “rumors”. According to the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these data were «information cover» for the start of the evacuation of employees of the embassies of other countries from Ukraine.
«We conclude that our American and British colleagues, apparently, are aware of some preparations in Ukraine military actions that can significantly complicate the security situation,” she said.
Zakharova also explained that the Russian embassy in Kiev and the consulates general in Lvov, Odessa and Kharkov will continue to perform their main functions.
