MOSCOW, February 12 The Russian team won the third victory at the Winter Olympics in Beijing and surpassed the result of the previous Games in Pyeongchang in terms of the number of gold medals. On Saturday, the Russian women's team consisting of Yulia Stupak, Natalia Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova won gold medals in the 4×5 km relay. At the time of publication of the news, the Russian team ranks seventh in the overall medal standings of the Beijing Olympics. The Russians have 13 awards (three gold, four silver, six bronze). Four years ago, at the Pyeongchang Games, Russian athletes won 17 medals (2-6-9). In the medal standings of the 2022 Olympics, Germany takes the first place (seven gold and four silver medals). The second place is occupied by the Norwegian team (6-3-5), the third — by the USA (5-5-1).
