Its purpose is declared as ensuring the security of the airspace of the North Atlantic Alliance. The NATOAirPolicing mission assumes the constant presence of fighter aircraft and crews ready to respond quickly to possible airspace violations. Currently, the US and the UK are deploying an additional 1,700 and 350 soldiers, respectively, to Poland.
