Musaeva, the wife of the former Chechen judge Saydi Yangulbaev, has been in the Grozny pre-trial detention center since February 1 on the case of an attack on a security official. On January 20, Chechen police forcefully took her away from Nizhny Novgorod. Chechen authorities connect Musaeva’s sons with the opposition telegram channel 1ADAT, which harshly criticizes the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov and his entourage.

Musayeva was diagnosed with diabetes. During a speech in court on February 11, she complained of serious health problems and asked to be placed under house arrest: “If you can give me house arrest, I will not run away anywhere. My condition is very bad, I am dying quietly.
