Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva with an error on axele in three and a half turns performed a short program in the individual tournament at the Beijing Olympics. Valieva entered the ice second in the final group of participants. She made a mistake on landing from the first jump element — an axel in three and a half turns. Then the skater performed a clean triple flip and triple lutz cascade — triple toe loop. After the end of the performance, the skater was close to crying, but restrained herself. For the performance of the short program, Valieva received 82.16 points, she takes first place at the moment when there are four more participants left to perform. Valieva's doping test, taken at the end of December, gave a positive result. The Court of Arbitration for Sport allowed the skater to participate in the Olympic individual tournament in Beijing. However, the awards ceremony, if Valieva gets into the top three, will not be held during the Olympics, it will take place after the end of the investigation into the case of the Russian figure skater.
