I have in view of the tense situation related to security issues, a situation that some are trying to present as an attempt at aggression from the territory of Belarus. We have always been in favor of dialogue,» Makei said at a press conference on Wednesday. On Monday, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin discussed by phone with Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov steps to strengthen the atmosphere of trust in the region. As stated in Minsk, the Ukrainian side spoke in favor of intensifying cooperation on issues of security and mutual trust, concrete steps were outlined to increase trust. According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Reznikov and Khrenin agreed on visits by military attaches to the Ukrainian exercises «Metel — 2022» and the Belarusian-Russian exercises «Allied Resolve — 2022».
