The European Day of Solidarity campaign: STAND WITH UKRAINE will be held in 25 European cities on February 18-20. This was stated by the campaign coordinator, head of the Austrian NGO Unlimited Democracy Anna Pattermann, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Correspondent.
«Rallies as part of the global campaign European Day of Solidarity: STAND WITH UKRAINE in support of Ukraine, its independence and sovereignty will be held from February 18 to 20, most of them — on Saturday. In general, the anthem of Ukraine will be heard, and the national flag will be raised in 25 European cities — from London to Lisbon», — said Pattermann.
«Our simultaneous performance will show the whole world that Ukraine is an important part of Europe. We want to emphasize that now we are talking not only about the democratic future of Ukraine, but about the security of the entire European continent. The entire civilized world should now take the side of Ukraine and condemn Russian military preparations. We want to say: «Please don't close your eyes to the struggle of Ukrainians for democracy and freedom!» — added the coordinator.
It is noted that activists of the Ukrainian diasporas, foreign public organizations, representatives of the diasporas of Belarus, Georgia and Chechnya have joined the initiative. The purpose of the campaign is to draw attention to Russian hybrid aggression, as well as to remind that Ukraine is part of Europe. And Europe must maintain unity and solidarity with Ukraine at this difficult time.
Demonstrations in support of Ukraine will be held in Austria (Vienna, Graz, Linz and Salzburg), Belgium (Brussels), Cyprus (Paphos), in Germany (Berlin, Chemnitz, Düsseldorf, Freiburg, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Mainz and Munich), France (Paris and Strasbourg), Hungary (Budapest), Slovakia (Bratislava), Latvia (Riga), Poland (Poznan), Portugal (Lisbon, Algarve, Porto), Great Britain (London).
