The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg sent Pavel Marchuk, deputy commander of the mobile platoon No. 1 of a separate battalion of the PPS, under arrest in the case of torturing a detainee with a stun gun. This was reported by the joint press service of the courts.
According to the investigation, on November 10, 2021, on Police Day, Marchuk and his colleagues in police department No. 86 “inflicted multiple blows on the victim Jorgintsyan” with a stun gun.
Marchuk was charged with abuse of office (points «a» and «b» of part 3 of article 286 of the Criminal Code). The security officer pleaded not guilty and refused to testify.

On February 15, human rights activists reported the detention of four policemen in the case of torture of the detained Khachik Jorgntsyan. The head of the Agora international human rights group, Pavel Chikov, specified that only Marchuk was charged at the moment, while the other three police officers are likely to become witnesses in the case against him.
