Canadian scientists find method to change blood type.
Canadian scientists from the University of Toronto for the first time learned how to change the blood type of patients during organ transplantation They purified it from specific antigens (either A or B for the second and third groups, respectively) using the enzymes N-acetyl-alpha-D-galactose deacetylase (FpGalNAc-deacetylase) and D-galactosamine-galactosaminidase (FpGalactosaminidase).
The method was first tested on aortic tissues, and then successfully used it to successfully destroy group A proteins in eight lung samples.
It is noted that it took the enzymes only about four hours to destroy almost all agglutinogens. Then the researchers tested the reaction from plasma antibodies from people with the first blood type, and it turned out to be insignificant. This indicates a good survival rate of this method.
