He became the first in the final race of the men's program — free style mass start. Due to bad weather, the distance was reduced from 50 to 28.4 kilometers. Bolshunov covered this distance in 1 hour 11 minutes 32.7 seconds. Silver was also on the account of the Russian team — Ivan Yakimushkin was 5.5 seconds behind Bolshunov.
