Beijing, February 20, Anatoly Samokhvalov. IOC President Thomas Bach announced XXIV winter Beijing Olympic Games closed, the Olympic flame extinguished. The closing ceremony was held at the National Stadium in Beijing. The Russians took part in the parade of athletes, the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee, under which the national team performs, was carried by three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov. At the 2022 Games, the Russian team won 32 medals (six gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze) and became the second in total awards after Norwegians (37). In the medal standings (counted by the number of gold medals), the Russians finished ninth. The XXV Winter Olympic Games will be held from February 6 to 22 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
