Beijing, February 20, Anatoly Samokhvalov. Closing ceremony of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games 2022 year ended at the National Stadium in Beijing. During the ceremony, a parade of athletes took place, in which the Russian team took part, the flag of the Russian Olympic Committee was carried by three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov. The Russian team won 32 medals at the Games (six gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze) and became the second in the total number of awards after the Norwegians (37). In the medal standings (counted by the number of gold medals), the Russians finished ninth. The XXV Winter Olympic Games will be held February 6-22, 2026 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
