
MOSCOW, February 22 The Polish Football Union intends to apply to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) with a request to postpone the play-off match for entering the World Cup against the Russian team, the Polish newspaper Sport reports. It is noted that such a desire is dictated by the situation with the recognition of the DPR and LPR. The Polish side believes that «holding the match in Moscow may not be safe.» According to the source, a change in the venue of the meeting is unlikely. At the same time, Polish Minister of Sports Kamil Bortnichuk announced his desire to hold the match «at least on neutral territory.» The next games of the Russian national team will be held in Moscow in March, the team will take part in the tournament for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. In the semi-finals of the mini-tournament, the team of Valery Karpin will play with the national team of Poland on March 24, if they win, they will meet with the strongest in the match between the teams of Sweden and the Czech Republic. The leadership of the DPR and LPR announced the temporary evacuation of citizens to the Rostov region in connection with the threat of Ukraine's invasion. It primarily concerns women, children and the elderly. As stated by the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky will soon order the military to launch an offensive in the Donbass, to implement a plan to invade the DPR and LPR.
