After the unification, people's deputies will be able to pass bills aimed at strengthening the defense sector of Ukraine in a short time.
All parliamentary factions, in the face of a possible invasion of the Russian army, agreed to create a Defense Coalition, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Focus.
This was reported by the MP from « European Solidarity» Alexey Goncharenko.
According to him, parliamentary factions and groups, postponing all political conflicts, decided to create a Defense Coalition.
Such a decision, as Oleksiy Goncharenko notes, will allow Ukraine to meet the enemy «in a single formation».
«This is the only solution for now. Competitors, politicians, but not opponents. The enemy is where the Moscow dialect and the roar of tanks are heard. It is time for Ukraine not only to punch the aggressor in the teeth, but also to tear him to hell. Otherwise, he does not understand. And we are definitely not dentists for him», added the MP from the EU in his Telegram channel.
The information that the Defense Coalition was formed in the Rada was also confirmed by the head of the parliamentary faction «Servant of the People» David Arakhamia. According to him, people's deputies «put aside» political disputes and will work «on those things that now need to be accepted».
David Arakhamia also announced that at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, which will be held on February 23, parliamentarians will consider changes to the defense budget, as well as innovations in the procurement rules, so that all law enforcement agencies have the opportunity to conduct quick bidding.
«We agreed to set up a defense headquarters in Parliament and meet regularly. This headquarters is developing different solutions, we go to the president, discuss with him and then accept it in parliament», Arakhamia summed up at a briefing, which was dedicated to the results of the meeting between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the heads of parliamentary factions and groups.
It is worth recalling that on February 22, the Verkhovna Rada registered a draft resolution on the severance of diplomatic relations with Russia. In the event that the parliament approves the document, within five days the Cabinet of Ministers and President Volodymyr Zelensky must terminate the agreements that were signed with the Russian Federation.
It was also reported that the Verkhovna Rada called the condition for the introduction of martial law in Ukraine. According to the head of the faction «Servant of the people» David Arakhamia, a special legal regime will be established in the event of open military aggression by Russia.
