MOSCOW, February 23 British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss believes that the League final champions of the 2021/22 season, which is planned in St. Petersburg, should not be held in Russia.
"I clearly state, no, it should not. Should English clubs boycott the final in Russia? Yes. If I were them, I would boycott it", Truss replied on Sky News.
Earlier, British media reported that UEFA is considering moving the venue for the 2021/22 Champions League final from St. Petersburg to London after Russia recognized the independence of the LPR and DPR. At the same time, the head of the organizing committee of the final, Alexei Sorokin, said that preparations for the match were being carried out as before, and UEFA did not report a desire to move the game to another city. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in turn that he considers it «unthinkable» to hold large football competitions in Russia. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said that the British capital is ready to host the Champions League final instead of St. Petersburg.
