Archive photoSIMFEROPOL, Feb. 23 The preparation of the first lawsuit against Ukraine on the water blockade has been completed, Sergey Trofimov, head of the committee on legislation of the Crimean parliament, deputy head of the working group on assessing the consequences of the blockade, told RIA Novosti. Earlier it was reported that the lawsuit on water blockade will be the first in a series of legal claims against Ukraine. Further, paperwork is planned for causing damage to the peninsula as a result of the energy, transport, food and banking blockades arranged by the Kiev authorities.
"The preparation of a lawsuit against Ukraine on the water blockade has been completed. This fundamental document consists of 18 pages in 11th font. The main plaintiff is the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea", Trofimov told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the lawsuit will be brought against the state of Ukraine represented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the State Agency for Water Resources and the North Crimean Canal Administration.
