Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal responded to the ultimatum of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of government stressed that joining NATO and returning the occupied Crimea — this is a requirement of the Ukrainian society, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
«For an independent, sovereign country — Ukraine, and for me, as the prime minister of our state, this is impossible», — said Shmygal, answering a question about his reaction to Putin's ultimatum on Ukraine's refusal to join NATO.
«Most of these demands are conditions, these are not ultimatum demands, but the conditions that Putin expressed&# 187;, — added the prime minister.
According to him, some of the «requirements» Russian leader — this is a requirement of Ukrainian society. Therefore, Ukraine will continue to move in the directions that were accepted by the Ukrainians.
Recall that today Putin once again put forward ultimatums to Ukraine. He said that in order to improve relations, Kiev needs to recognize the Russian occupation of Crimea and refuse to join NATO.
