On Tuesday, EU foreign ministers agreed on the decision to impose the first part of sanctions for recognizing the LPR and DPR. Under restrictive measures were the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, who voted for the recognition of the independence of the republics — in total, according to an earlier statement by the EU, 351 parliamentarians. Sanctions are also provided for the banking sector and trade union with the Donbass. In addition, the EU said that 27 additional individuals and organizations, including media representatives, were added to the list. At the same time, in the published document, 26 persons are listed in this part of the sanctions. Inclusion in the EU sanctions list means a ban on entry into the territory of the European Union and the freezing of assets in the territory of the Union for individuals, as well as freezing the assets of organizations. Citizens and organizations in the EU are prohibited from transferring funds to those on the list. Individual sanctions against citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, whom the EU accuses of «undermining the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine», were first introduced in March 2014 and have been regularly extended for six months since then.
