MOSCOW, February 26 The International Judo Federation (IJF) has decided to cancel the tournament The Grand Slam, which was supposed to be held in Kazan, is reported on the official website of the organization. The competition was supposed to take place from May 20 to May 22. «We are saddened by the current international situation, which is the result of ineffective dialogue at the international level. We, the sports community, must remain united and strong, support each other and human values, to always promote peace and friendship, harmony and unity.The judo family hopes that the current unrest can be resolved in order to restore stability in Eastern Europe and the world, in order to once again be able to focus on diverse cultures, history and heritage of Europe in the most positive sense,» IJF President Marius Wieser said in a statement. The IOC Executive Board on Friday called on all international federations to reschedule or cancel sporting events planned in Russia and Belarus, as well as not to use the national flags and anthems of these countries in any competitions.
