MOSCOW, 25 Feb. The Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has called on all international federations to reschedule or cancel sporting events planned in Russia and Belarus, according to the organization's website. «It is necessary to take into account the violation of the Olympic truce by the governments of Russia and Belarus and give absolute priority to the safety of athletes The IOC itself does not plan any events in these countries,” the statement said. The organization’s executive board also expressed support for the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) regarding the upcoming Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2022. “The IOC Executive Board is deeply concerned about the safety of members of the Olympic community in Ukraine and expresses its full solidarity. The IOC Special Task Force is in contact with the Olympic community in the country to coordinate humanitarian assistance where possible,» the text says.
