The return match was supposed to take place on Sunday in Almere.» Taking into account all aspects in which the morale, safety and well-being of players, staff and the public are of paramount importance, the leadership of the Netherlands Basketball Association cannot but cancel Sunday's game in Almere. This is partly due with the reaction in the Netherlands, demonstrations and social unrest,” the statement said. The organization noted that they hope to hold a meeting against the Russian team at a later date. The Russian national team, after three matches with six points, leads the group H table, the Netherlands team scored three points and is in last place.
