Tina Karol this year was one of the jury members of the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, which ended in a huge scandal. Clouds gathered around the winner Alina Pash — it turned out that the girl provided the organizing committee with a «fake» certificate of crossing the border with the occupied Crimea from Ukraine. For this, the artist paid with the opportunity to represent her native country at the international competition in Turin, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to RBC-Ukraine.
Tina Karol in the Social Life program shared with Katya Osadchaya how she relates to the scandalous situation around the National Selection.
The singer is convinced that troubles could have been avoided if all contestants had been carefully checked in advance.
«There is no such dirt in any country. I ask — stop it. We look bad, I look bad. This can be foreseen and verified. If there are any specific principles and rules, then take and check everyone. You don't have to be surprised later. I don't trust anyone»,— notes Karol.
Tina also assured that she asked the organizers if they checked the participants, including Alina Pash. Before going on air, Karol specifically clarified whether everything was fine with this participant.
The artist was assured that there would be no surprises and the reputation of the contestants was not tarnished. In addition, she collaborated with Pash and recorded a duet track with her.
«My inner feeling said that there would be a scandal. She participated in my «Young Blood». I really respect her as a performer, but the national selection — this is a fine structure, — Tina emphasized.
The singer is convinced that to go to the National Selection one must «have a crystal clear reputation». «Even a jury member must have some reputation», — she added.
At the same time, Karol is not opposed to Kalush Orchestra representing Ukraine at Eurovision 2022.
By the way, after a loud scandal, Pash herself announced her temporary retirement from social networks and noted that she needed time to recover.
In the meantime, the organizing committee suggested Kalush Orchestra to go to Turin in May. There is no official data on whether the rappers will go to Italy for Eurovision 2022 yet.
