Martial law is making drunk drivers punish harder. The cars will replenish the fleet of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the territorial defense.
During martial law, drunk drivers can lose not only their rights, but also the car. This decision is made by military administrations throughout Ukraine. and territorial defense. In particular, this was reported in the Rivne OVA.
«From today, there is one more rule. If the police detain a driver while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the vehicle will immediately be confiscated for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the TPO. We have a war in our country, and it's time to remind irresponsible citizens of this», — said the head of the Rivne regional military administration Vitaliy Koval.
The mayor of Nikolaev Vitaliy Kim made the same statement. According to him, such a decision was dictated, first of all, by the lack of transport for the army and the terrorist defense.
«We now have a dry law — you can’t drink. Today I saw — it turns out, some can. So, from tomorrow morning, I give permission to the patrolmen: if you are drunk at the wheel, the car is taken to the needs of the army, irrevocably. Therefore, you should not drink while driving — it will be expensive», Vitaly Kim said.
