Previously, there were no victims or injured,» — According to a message in the Telegram channel of the civil service. Earlier, a representative of the press service of the nuclear power plant said that a fire had occurred on the territory of the station, there were no changes in the background radiation. The footage from the surveillance camera at the station showed smoke. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine then reported that the fire occurred outside the Zaporozhye NPP, one of the power units was switched off at the station.
Later, the State Emergency Service specified that the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of the five-story training complex of the NPP were on fire.< br>
Acting Oleg Korikov, Chief State Inspector for Nuclear and Radiation Safety of Ukraine, explained on the air of the Rada TV channel that there are seven nuclear installations, six power units and a nuclear storage facility at the Zaporozhye NPP. According to him, power unit No. 1 was previously stopped for repairs, power units No. 2 and No. 3 were safely shut down, and No. 4 continues to work. Power units No. 5 and No. 6 are reserve, nothing threatens them. The mayor of Energodar reported that there was no information about the fire at the nuclear power plant itself.
