MOSCOW, Mar 5 Russian Premier League (RPL) and Football National League (FNL) reserve the right to appeal the decision to expel from the Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL), according to the RPL website. On Friday, the EPFL Board of Directors excluded the RPL and FNL from its membership due to the situation around Russia and Ukraine. «Association European professional football leagues informed the RPL and FNL of the exclusion from membership of the association, which is an advisory body and a platform for developing positions on various issues of football development in Europe.Currently, the administrations of the RPL and FNL are studying the legal basis for this decision and reserve the right to appeal it to on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the sovereignty of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation to demilitarize Ukraine. The Russian Defense Ministry emphasized that the Russian Armed Forces do not strike at the cities of Ukraine: military infrastructure is disabled by high-precision means. The civilian population, according to the department, is not in danger.
