MOSCOW, Mar 7 The International Football Federation (FIFA) will allow foreign players to suspend contracts with Russian clubs and sign agreements with foreign teams until June 30, according to the New York Times. It is noted that after June 30, legionnaires will have to return to their teams. It is expected that FIFA will officially announce the decision on Monday. Earlier, the International Federation of Professional Football Players Associations (FIFPro) approached FIFA with a proposal to allow legionnaires to terminate contracts with Russian clubs without paying a penalty due to the situation in Ukraine. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and FIFA on February 28 suspended Russian clubs and teams from participating in international competitions due to the situation around Russia and Ukraine. The RFU decided to challenge the sanctions in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
