The Russian Football Union (RFU) has filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the decision of the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) to suspend Russian national teams and Russian clubs from participation in competitions, a communications service representative said RFU. «The Russian Football Union has filed an appeal with CAS against the decision of FIFA and UEFA to suspend the Russian national team and Russian clubs from participating in competitions,» the RFU said. On February 28, FIFA and UEFA suspended Russian clubs and teams from participating in international competitions due to situation in Ukraine. The RFU said on March 3 that it would appeal to the CAS against this decision. It was reported that within the framework of a single lawsuit, the RFU would demand the restoration of all men's and women's national teams of Russia in all types of football in the tournaments in which they took part, as well as compensation for damage if its existence is established.
