MOSCOW, Mar 10 Elena Branson, in an interview with RIA Novosti, called the accusations made against her in the United States absurd and far-fetched. «I consider the accusations that were made against me to be baseless, absurd and far-fetched,» Branson said. She noted that for the past 10 years she has been actively involved in life of the Russian community in the United States, which included various projects to preserve the Russian language and the cultural and historical heritage of Russian Americans, as well as the development of humanitarian ties and dialogue between citizens of the two countries. «My public activities were open, transparent and non-political, and information all ongoing events are published on websites and social networks,» Branson said. Earlier, the US Department of Justice announced that Branson was charged with legal work as a foreign agent.
