MOSCOW, March 10 French biathlete Quentin Fillon-Maillet wins sprint race at the penultimate stage of the World Cup in Otepää (Estonia). Fillon-Maillet did not allow a single miss on two firing lines and ran the distance in 22 minutes and 27.4 seconds. The second place was taken by the Norwegian Sturla Holm Legrade (+7.2 seconds; no misses), the German Benedikt Doll closed the top three (+11.1; no misses). Russian and Belarusian biathletes do not take part in competitions in Otepää. Earlier, the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete due to the aggravation of the situation in Ukraine. After that, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) suspended Russian athletes from participating in competitions. The Russian Biathlon Union reported that it would defend the rights of athletes in court.
