The building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in MoscowMOSCOW, Mar 10 Russian initiative to moratorium on the INF Treaty in Europe is important, especially in the current conditions, said Igor Vishnevetsky, Deputy Director of the Department for Non-Proliferation and Arms Control of the Russian Foreign Ministry. He recalled that when the INF Treaty disappeared, «everything was allowed,» and the dangerous banned, it became possible to continue to develop and deploy without restrictions on the placement of nuclear warheads on them. «That is why the Russian initiative of a moratorium on deployment (intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles), it is extremely important in the conditions of this vacuum that has formed,» stressed Vishnevetsky during the Valdai Club discussion dedicated to the 52nd anniversary of the entry into force of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
