File photoMOSCOW, Mar 11The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended that Ukraine destroy highly dangerous pathogens stored in the country's laboratories to prevent possible spills, the WHO said in an email to Reuters. Previously, Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland stated that there are biological research facilities in Ukraine, Kyiv and Washington are now working to prevent materials accumulated there from falling into the hands of Russian forces. In response, the Russian Defense Ministry noted that with these words it confirmed the participation of the Pentagon in military biological programs in Ukraine. The WHO said that it had been cooperating with the medical authorities of Ukraine for several years to promote the implementation of security methods. “As part of this work, WHO strongly recommended that the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and other responsible authorities destroy especially dangerous pathogens in order to prevent any possible spills,” the organization said in a letter.
